GAMEPLAY
How do I set up a challenge and start playing?
It’s quick and easy. There are four ways to enter a challenge on BringIt. From your My BringIt page, you can access the following:
- 1.Instant Action - Our proprietary player matching technology - Members who are online and have an Open Challenge
- 2.Open Challenges - Browse open Challenges for a match you want to play
- 3.Challenge A Friend - Go to your friends profile and challenge them
- 4.Multiplayer Tournament - Find a Bracket Style Tournament to Join
What happens if there is a disconnection during my game?
Our policy allows for one of two choices when a disconnection occurs. First, you can finish out your game by starting a new game, keeping the same score at the point of disconnection and playing out the remaining time through the Resume Game Setting in the game title. Or, the player that was losing at the point of disconnection can choose to take the loss and not re-start the game.
What happens if there is a disconnection and I am using Auto Score Reporting?
Similar to self-reported games, the player losing at the time of the disconnection can choose to take the loss or restart the game, keeping the score at the time of disconnection. There are two differences when using Auto Score Reporting:
- Option 1: If the player who is losing at the time of disconnection wishes to take the loss, neither player need take action. This is because EA's system will automatically send BringIt an email reporting the score at the time of disconnection as if it were a final score
- Option 2: If the player who was losing wishes to restart the game with the same score, this player must notify his opponent then send an email to support@bringit.com asking us to reset the game. This will also allow us to undo the win that was automatically credited at the time of disconnection. Note: Do not rely on ASR for the restarted challenge. Upon completion of the reset game, you must report the outcome manually
How do I prove that I won the game?
We recommend using Auto Score Reporting when available. Since BringIt cannot automatically verify the score or outcome of games not utilizing Auto Score Reporting, we recommend that you take into account the Dispute Resolution System accepted forms of evidence:
- Screen shot (digital photo)
- Video upload (game bridge recording or similar)
- End of game email forwarded to BringIt
- Audio or written proof
What happens if my scheduled game never gets played?
If a scheduled game is not played and not reported within 6 hours of acceptance, the match is automatically cancelled, and both players are refunded their entry fee, less the service fee.
REPORTING & VERIFYING
How does BringIt know who wins?
At the end of each game, users will report and verify the results. The winnings will be transferred to the winner’s BringIt account.
What happens if my opponent doesn't verify that I won the game?
Your opponent has 1 hour to verify your outcome report of the game from the time you submit. If the match goes unverified after 1 hour then the reported winner of the game will be credited with the win.
If my opponent didn't show up to play the game, can I claim the win?
No. There are no automatic forfeit wins on BringIt and you can be fined if you claim the win without playing. If you wait 24 hours from the time the challenge was scheduled your entry will be credited back into your BringIt account, less the service fee.
What is Auto Score Reporting (ASR), and how do I set it up?
Auto Score Reporting gives you the option to have game results submitted automatically to BringIt. When using ASR, there is no need for you to self-report, because it is done automatically at the conclusion of each game. This prevents any possibility of false-win reporting and makes for more accurate and streamlined play. Here are the particulars of using ASR on BringIt:
- Auto Score Reporting must be selected in your BringIt profile
- You must provide BringIt with an accurate, case-sensitive Gamer Tag
- Your opponent must select Auto Score Reporting when they accept the challenge (by checking the Enable Auto Scoring box)
- Your opponent must also have an accurate, case-sensitive Gamer Tag and have ASR enabled on their profile (we encourage you to message them directly and remind them to do so)
- You must play the game using the Gamer Tag associated with your account (or the results will not be generated)
- You must set your EA game-stats email to be sent to yourbringitusername@report.bringit.com (click here for detailed instructions on how to set this up in your EA game)
- Approximately 15-30 minutes after the game is completed, the stats will automatically be sent to BringIt, and the winner will be credited
- Auto Score reports are considered final and cannot be disputed; however, you are still allowed to dispute cheating or indicate if a disconnection has occurred
Which games does Auto Score Reporting work with?
Auto Score Reporting works only with RANKED GAMES on the following titles: Madden NFL 09, Fifa 08, NCAA Football 09, NBA Live 08, and NHL 09. If you are unable to check the Enable Auto Scoring box, this means ASR cannot be used for your challenge.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION
What is a Dispute?
For any questions and information about our Dispute policies and procedures, please see “Disputes” under the Rules tab.
MULTIPLAYER TOURNAMENTS
How much does it cost to enter a Multiplayer Tournament, and how much money can I win?
The amount of the entry fee and winnings varies between tournaments, and winnings can be monetary (from $10 to thousands!) or prizes. You can easily view tournament details before entering: The prize amount, tournament start time, and number of spots remaining will be shown in the Upcoming Multiplayer Tournaments list; you can see additional details, including the number of players, by clicking on the Register link (this will NOT automatically register you). Players pay one entry fee prior to round-one play, and there is no additional fee for subsequent rounds. In order to enter a Multiplayer Tournament, you must have the amount of the entry fee available in your BringIt account.
How do I enter a BringIt Multiplayer Tournament?
Entering a Multiplayer Tournament is easy! Just go to your My Challenges page (from your My BringIt page), where you will see the Upcoming Multiplayer Tournaments list directly below the Open (two-player) Challenges and the Multiplayer Tournaments in Progress listings. To enter, click Register; then confirm your registration on the next page.
How will I know I have been registered for a Multiplayer Tournament?
Once you have entered, the Register link in the Upcoming Multiplayer Tournaments list will read "Signed Up." Secondly, your round-one match will appear in your Ready to Play list.
How do BringIt Multiplayer Tournaments and prizes work? Are tournaments multi-tiered, bracket style?
BringIt Multiplayer Tournaments are multi-tiered competitions ranging from four to over 64 players per tournament--think NCAA March Madness bracket-style tournaments. All Multiplayer Tournaments are single elimination: Each round is a series of two-player challenges. If you win, you advance to the next round; if you lose, you are eliminated from the tournament. The tournament continues until one player survives the predetermined number of rounds to become the last player standing.
Are winnings awarded at the end of each round during a Multiplayer Tournament?
No. In BringIt Multiplayer Tournaments, there is one winner. The tournament champion will receive the entire prize amount at the conclusion of the final round.
How do I collect my winnings from a Multiplayer Tournament?
Just as in two-player matches, the prize amount will be transferred into the winner's BringIt account. However, since Multiplayer Tournaments have a preset prize amount--there is no service fee charged. If you win a tournament, the prize amount listed is exactly what you will receive.
Which games are offered as Multiplayer Tournaments?
BringIt offers Multiplayer Tournaments for nearly all games available on the site.
Once I register for a Multiplayer Tournament, how do I know whom I am supposed to play?
Once you have entered a tournament, the name of your round-one opponent will be sent to your BringIt Inbox, and a duplicate message will be sent via any preferred methods of contact you've selected in your BringIt profile (i.e. alternate handle, external email account, text message, etc.). Additionally, your opponent's name will appear as a link in your Ready to Play list. Opponents for subsequent rounds will be sent in the same manner.
How long before the beginning of a round will I receive the name of my opponent?
Since we allow players to sign up for tournaments until round one begins, you may not find out the name of your opponent until up to 15 minutes after round one has begun. Don't panic...this is normal. It just gives our system time to match up players as they register. If you advance, you will receive notification of your subsequent-round opponents within 15 minutes after the start of each additional round.
How long do I have to play each round in a Multiplayer Tournament?
You have 48 hours from the time a round begins to finish that round.
How do I know what time my first-round game will take place?
The start time for round one will be listed in the details of each tournament. (This can be viewed in the Upcoming Multiplayer Tournaments list on your My Challenges page as well as in your Ready to Play list once you have registered for a tournament.) You must play out your game within 48 hours of the tournament start time. For example, if the listing says "12/19/2008 02:30PM," you must start and finish your round-one match sometime between 2:30 p.m. on December 19 and 2:30 p.m. on December 21.
Once you have received the name of your opponent for round one, you should contact this player as soon as possible to set the specific time for your challenge within the 48-hour window.
How do I know when games in rounds two, three, etc. will take place?
BringIt tournaments are fast paced and action packed. So just think of the tournament clock as continuously ticking. In the tournament description, you will see the date and time the tournament begins. Since each round is allotted a 48-hour period for play, round one must be played within the first 48 hours, round two in the next 48 hours, round three in the following 48 hours, and so on. In our example where the listing says "12/19/2008 02:30PM," you must play out your round-one match sometime between 2:30 p.m. on December 19 and 2:30 p.m. on December 21. Round two must be played out between 2:30 p.m. on December 21 and 2:30 p.m. on December 23, and so forth.
How should I contact my opponent to set a time for our challenge?
There are various ways to contact your opponent. The best method is to use BringIt private messaging, which delivers a message to your opponent's Inbox (to send a private message, click on your opponent's name, and then hit Send Message from their profile). The second method is to use the Bark Box: Just type in your message and hit Bark to have your message visible to all BringIt members. Finally, you can click your opponent's name, go to their profile, and use any other approved method of communication listed.
How long do I have to make contact with my opponent to set a time to play?
You must initiate contact or respond to communications sent by your opponent within the first 24 hours of any round. Failure to do so will constitute a forfeit: Your entry fee will not be refunded, and your opponent will receive a bye for the next round if they can show they have tried to contact you.
What if my opponent reports a tournament game and we have not played the round?
Both players must contact each other within the first 24 hours of a tournament round. If you have contacted your opponent and have not received a response after the first 24 hours of the round, you may report the win. If a player reports a tournament win without trying to contact their opponent they will be disqualified from the tournament and the other player will automatically advance.
What if my opponent won't respond to set up a time to play?
This is the reason we recommend using the BringIt private messaging system to communicate with opponents--because we can easily track your efforts to make contact! If you send a message and receive no response, send a second message. If you still don't get a response, after 24 hours into the round, you may report yourself as the winner. Should your opponent dispute your efforts to make contact, we can view the record of your two attempts. Unless there is sufficient evidence to the contrary, you will advance to the next round.
What if we set a game time, but my opponent doesn't show up?
If your opponent doesn't show up at the agreed-upon tournament time, please wait 15 minutes. If he or she is still a no-show, send an email to service@bringit.com telling us that you are available for the game, but that your opponent has not shown. (Note: It is important that you send the email 15 minutes after your scheduled game time to prove that you were actually available at the correct time.) Secondly, wait until 24 hours into the round; then report yourself as the winner. If there is no sufficient evidence to the contrary, you will advance to the next round.
What if my opponent and I can't agree on a time to play during the 48-hour period of a certain round?
If you and your opponent can't agree on a time during the allotted 48-hour period, neither of you will advance to the next round, and your entry fees will not be returned. After a certain length of time, the round will simply expire. Therefore, in fairness to your fellow competitors, please refrain from entering a tournament if you have little time available during the days following the tournament start time.
What happens if there is a disconnection during Multiplayer Tournament play?
The policy for disconnections is the same for games played during a tournament round as it is for regular head-to-head challenges. Click here for details.
How do I report a win or loss following a Multiplayer Tournament game?
You report the outcome of a tournament game the same as you would a regular head-to-head challenge. Click here for details.
Is Auto Score Reporting available for Multiplayer Tournament games?
Auto Score Reporting of tournament games is available for any games that support it. Auto Score Reporting works with the following titles: Madden NFL 09, Fifa 08, Fifa 09, NCAA Football 09, NBA Live 08, NHL 09. If you are unable to check the Enable Auto Scoring box, this means ASR cannot be used for your challenge. For more information about Auto Score Reporting, see the Reporting & Verifying section.
