Madden NFL 08 Tournaments: The Stats
As the name suggests, the Madden NFL 08 video game—the 19th installment in the Madden NFL video game franchise—is the 2008 version that enables gamers to simulate the action of real-life, professional football. Published by EA Sports, Madden NFL 08 is the first of the Madden NFL video game battles to be compatible with ten different platforms, including Playstation 2, PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s Wii.
Online Madden NFL 08 Tournaments: Features & Upgrades
Evolving extensively from Madden 07, the Madden NFL 08 video game offers football fanatics some serious advances in gameplay, real-life synchronicity, online tournaments, and fantasy selection.
- Branching animation system—allows for more dynamic gameplay in Madden 08 video game competitions, enabling players to break free of automations and exert more control over actions, as well as execute moves like mid-air collisions, one-handed and sideline catches, hurdles, and gang tackles.
- Hit Stick 2.0—permits players to hit high or low with a simple maneuver of the analog stick up or down.
- Real-world fatigue system—mimics real-life handicaps—such as cold-weather teams playing in hot weather—and prohibits players from repetitively running fatigued teammates long distances.
- Star-player weapons—enhance the performance of key athletes by facilitating previously impossible plays. Madden NFL08 quarterbacks with the Smart Quarterback weapon can decipher defensive plays as a game progresses; Smart corners, safeties, and linebackers can achieve this feat on defense; Smart shutdown corners can successfully guard the most agile receivers; and, for their part, receivers can complete challenging catches by hurdling defensemen.
- Position conversion—enables gamers to switch-up player positions in a Madden NFL 08 competition—from WR to CB or RB to WR—to exploit athlete skills.
- Superstar Mode additions—allow players to hijack the careers of 2007 NFL Draft rookies and use them in Superstar Mode in a Madden NFL 2008 challenge. Additionally, superstar attributes are chosen by gamers when creating players, as opposed to being randomly generated.
- NFL Draft Scouting System—makes it possible for gamers to scout college prospects.
- Improved camera angles—address complaints present with previous Madden versions.
- Specific styles and plays—allow Madden 08 players to tear across the field using player-specific running styles corresponding to actual NFL athletes and steal real plays from a favorite team’s playbook.
- Reemerging features—including roster editing, fantasy draft, and Owner Mode—absent from the first two Madden NFL next-gen editions—are brought back (and bettered) for the Madden NFL 08 tournament.
